The Rotary Clubs of Tempe, Arizona are hosting their first annual Rotary Day: a fun event that includes food, festivities, and carnival-like games open to the public with activities for the whole family. A variety of amusements, entertainments, and games of chance and skill will be available along with plenty of food and snacks to go around.
The Rotary Clubs of Tempe will host Rotary Day on March 14th between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm at the SRP Pera Club where they are expecting over 200 friends and families, and members of the community-at-large to participate and enjoy in the day’s festivities. The event is open to any body that wants to have fun.
Rotarians, as community members and civic leaders, are involved in a variety of service projects to improve our community and neighborhoods including park cleanups, food drives, charitable fundraisers, and traditional volunteer work. The Rotary Clubs of Tempe have worked with Habitat for Humanity, Feed My Starving Children, Higher Octave Healing, the Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley, the Kyrene Family Resource Center, the Centers for Habilitation, the Clothes Cabin, Project CURE, Maggie’s Place, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Elizabeth House, the Tempe Community Action Agency just to mention a few.
Rotary Clubs have often have held their Rotary Day events by participating in service projects including conducting free dental clinics for senior and low-income individuals, mentoring youth, and raising funds for polio eradication efforts. This year, the Rotary Clubs of Tempe will be raising items for the Phoenix VA Medical Center.
